1. DGC - Pair of Commercial Dry Gloves w/attached latex Glove Extenders;
2. "-L" - Pair of thermal glove liners;
3. ISR - Set of (4) Delrin rings (Del-rings);
4. BOR - Set of (8) "O rings", (4) thin and (4) thick;
5. NOC - Pair of neoprene Overcuffs; and
6. Instructions.

NOTE:  You will need to have ALL of the listed parts BEFORE you start assembly.

NOTE:  OS SYSTEMS also makes and sells a Standard Dry Glove System (DG-SYS).  The Standard Dry Gloves are made from 100% dipped LongLife LatexÔ natural gum rubber, are lighter weight, have textured palms and fingers, and have more tactile control.  The balance of the Dry Glove System remains the same.

Step 2.  You will need to identify the two types of Del-rings.  This photo shows the suit Del-ring.  Please note the pencil pointing to the one (1) large groove.
 

Step 3.  This photo shows the glove Del-ring.  Please note the two (2) small grooves on one side of the ring and the one (1) large groove on the other side
 

Step 4.  This is the sleeve and wrist seal of your drysuit turned “right side out”.
 

Step 5.  Turn the sleeve of your drysuit “inside out”.
 

Step 6.  This is the correct alignment of your suit Del-ring once you have inserted it down inside your drysuit sleeve.  The suit Del-ring is oriented with the one (1) large groove facing  toward the wrist seal opening.
 

Step 7.  Slide the suit Del-ring down inside your sleeve so that the edge of the Del-ring with the large groove is situated near the wrist seal opening.

Note:  You can see the impression of the one (1) large groove through the wrist seal.
 

Step 8.  The suit Del-ring is now correctly positioned inside the wrist seal.  You should have about 1/2 of an inch between the end of the drysuit material and the edge of the Del-ring.
 

Step 9.   Hold the Del-ring in position with your non-dominate hand and start “walking” one of the thick O-rings into the large groove in the Del-ring, pushing the latex seal into the grove while you are installing the O-ring.

Note:  DO NOT lubricate the thick O-rings.
 

Step 10.  Continue to work the thick O-ring into the groove while holding the Del-ring in position with your non-dominate hand.
 

Step 11.  Your wrist seal will look like this once the thick O-ring is installed.  Make sure that you have about 1/2 of an inch between the end of the drysuit material (see step 8) and the Del-ring edge.  If the Del-ring shifted while you were installing the thick O-ring, you will need to remove the O-ring and reinstall it correctly.
 

Step 12.  To remove the O-ring start by pulling the wrist seal toward you.  Grab the seal close to the edge of the O-ring.  As you pull up, you will pull the O-ring up and out of the groove in one spot.  Now push the O-ring forward with the thumb of your other hand.
 

Step 13.  When you have pushed the O-ring forward, grab it and remove it.
 

Step 14.  Once you have the Del-ring installed correctly inside the wrist seal, reach down the sleeve of your drysuit and grab one side of the Del-ring.  Please note the impression of the thumb and fingers in the picture.
 

Step 15.  Maintain a firm grip on the Del-ring and pull it back through the drysuit sleeve.  The Del-ring will “pop” out the end of the sleeve.  The drysuit sleeve is now “right side out”.
 

Step 16. This is what your drysuit sleeve should look like once the Del-ring is correctly installed.  If you do not have this look, turn the sleeve inside out again, remove the Del-ring (see step #12), and start over.  If your drysuit sleeve looks like this picture, you are ready for step #17.

NOTE:  DO NOT CUT OFF THE LATEX WRIST SEAL.  If The Glove Tears Or Becomes Detached, The Wrist Seal Provides You With A Backup To Prevent Flooding
 

Step 17.  Insert the glove Del-ring inside your glove.  The glove Del-ring is oriented with two small grooves facing toward the opening of the glove.
 

Step 18.  Position the glove Del-ring inside the latex extender part of your glove.  You want the end of the latex extender on the glove to just cover the first of the small grooves in the Del-ring.  The second small groove (the one closest to the end of the Del-ring) should still be visible.

Step 19.  Slide one of the large O-rings down the glove toward the large groove in the glove Del-ring.
 

Step 20.  Hold the Del-ring inside the glove with your non-dominate hand.  Work the large O-ring into the groove.  You are pushing the latex extender part of the  glove down into the large groove of the Del-ring.
 

Step 21.  The thick O-ring is now correctly installed on the glove and Del-ring.  If your glove does not look like this remove the O-ring, reposition the Del-ring, and reinstall the thick O-ring.  
 

Step 22.  Flip the end of the latex extender on the glove forward (toward the fingertips) to conceal and help protect the thick O-ring.  The extender should cover the large O-ring, the edge of the Glove Del-ring, and should continue slightly beyond.

NOTE:  The farther the extender folds back up the glove toward the fingertips, the more it helps hold the glove in position under the large O-ring, and helps keep the glove from possibly slipping out.
 

Step 23.  Pick-up two (2) of the thin O-rings and apply a light coating of silicone grease, just enough to facilitate the Del-ring/O-ring connection.

NOTE:   DO NOT heavily grease these O-rings!  Silicone grease is a lubricant, and makes the Del-rings and O-rings connect and disconnect easier.  Use silicone grease, or any lubricant, sparingly and test the Del-ring/O-ring friction each time before use.  Applying excess lubricant can cause the Dry Gloves and Del-rings to detach under water.
 
Step 24.  Install the two (2) lightly greased thin O-rings into the two narrow grooves on the glove Del-ring.
 

Step 25.  If your glove looks like this, move on to step #26.
 

Step 26.  Slide your hands through your wrist seals and dress completely in your drysuit. 
 

Step 27.  Insert a thin object (without a sharp point) under your wrist seal on the backside of your hand, a coffee stir stick cut in half works nicely.  This will allow air to travel from your suit to your gloves and back again.

NOTE:  You must have a way of equalizing the pressure between your Dry Gloves and your suit!  When ascending, the air will expand in a raised glove hand and could contribute to possible glove detachment.  Dive with the least amount of air in your drysuit to keep warm and comfortable.  Periodically lower your gloved hands to allow some air pressure to flow out of the gloves.

NOTE:  You can use the thermal liners instead of the coffee stick to allow air movement between  your drysuit and your Dry Gloves.  Simply don the liner before you slip your hands through the wrist seal, leaving the liner positioned between the wrist seal and your wrist.  This will allow more air movement, but, if your Dry Glove does become torn or detached, this will also allow more water to enter into your drysuit.  Be prepared to pull the liners out from under the wrist seals in that event.
 

Step 28.  Put your thermal liners on your hands.
 

Step 29.  Slide the glove over the thermal liner, right glove on right hand, left glove on left hand.
 

Step 30.  Push the two halves of the Del-rings together until the glove ring bottoms out inside the suit ring.  You WILL NOT hear or feel a click!
The pressure of the two thin O-rings keeps the glove from coming away from the suit.
 

Step 31.  Slide or “walk” the neoprene Overcuffs over your hand and position them to completely cover the two Del-rings and all areas where the seals are stretched.  This will help protect the seals from abrasion and puncture and will help prevent Dry Glove detachment.

NOTE: You MUST use these neoprene Overcuffs with your Dry Gloves!   Failure to do so may cause serious damage to your gloves or wrist seals  and/or may contribute to the flooding of your drysuit!
 

Step 32.  Working the neoprene Overcuff into position.
 

Step 33.  The neoprene Overcuff is properly installed and you are ready to dive!
 

Step 34.  To remove your Dry Gloves, start by removing the neoprene Overcuffs.  Exert forward pressure to the glove Del-ring at any location.  You will cause the two halves of the Del-rings to “snap” apart.
 

Step 35.  The glove Del-ring separates from the drysuit Del-ring.  Remove the gloves and thermal liners, remove the object that you placed under your wrist seal (to act as an air break) and remove your drysuit.

NOTE:  Store the Del-rings detached from each other.  If you store the Del-rings connected the contact surface of the O-rings can become depressed, especially in cold weather.  This will interfere with the friction seal between the Del-rings, and could cause leaking or detachment.

NOTE:  OS Systems suggests that you place the components of your Dry Glove System into a separate bag to avoid losing and items.
